Budva is one of the oldest cities on the Adriatic Sea. It is surrounded by ramparts originating from the XV century including a medieval fortification system with city gates, defense walls, and towers.
The Old Town of Budva was badly damaged in the devastating 1979 earthquake but was completely rebuilt. Today Budva is the center of nightlife in Montenegro so it is the most popular place for young people but the town offer fun for everybody.
Our next stop will be near the Sveti Stefan island.
Sveti Stefan is the biggest attraction on Riviera of Budva. The former fishing village situated on a peninsula became a hotel-town 50 years ago and since then is visited by Holywood stars and Royal families.
After this short break, we continue to drive to Virpazar. Virpazar is today a small town on the shores of the lake, but once it was of strategic significance that even the Turks built a fortress above the city that was used by occupiers in the WWI as a prison for the Montenegrin population.
Today this small town is the most popular tourist town on the coast of the National Park and the place from where we start the lake boat cruising.
Lake Skadar has been a protected National Park since 1983, and in 2011 was formally nominated for UNESCO heritage status.
With the surface of 370-540m2 Skadar lake is the largest lake in the Balkans peninsula.
The lake is a birder’s paradise, with more than 260 different species including the rare Dalmatian pelican. This lake is the last habitat for this kind of pelicans in Europe.

All activities are available at your request.
This is not all, villages around the lake are famous for wineries used to produce the famous Montenegrin red wine Vranac, a product that Montenegrins are extremely proud of!
As well as wine, locals are proud of brandy and food specialties, which are mostly presented with the story of origin.
That’s why we have chosen the best small family winery for your special and unique experience.
Just a few minutes drive from Virpazar, we will be welcome by our host and the wine-maker with a great sense of humor and knowledge about the region, food, wine and brandy.
After the story of the village, there follows a story of wine and brandy in a modest family wine cellar there follows the tasting of wine, then snacks and brandy tasting are next on the tour’s menu. Snacks are prosciutto from Njegusi village, olives from the olive area with the oldest olive trees in Europe, unique home-made bread, cheese, salad from the garden and some fish specialties.
